Draco and Harry
I've actually written an updated chapter of All in the Family, and I'll be posting it at my new journal, [info]brand0new0day.

Go read it, will ya!

New LJ!

Okay, folks, this journal is ancient and (I think, anyway), a bit out of date. I think it's time for a brand-new journal. I will not be purging this journal of entries/tags, I just simply won't be posting here anymore. All works of fiction will be kept here and the links that are provided on the profile for [info]bressa621 will remain there. That table of works will also be on my new profile, for reference and ease of use.

Do you wanna stay my friend? Leave a short comment here and your wish will be granted! My new journal is [info]brand0new0day.

Cheers, all! Even if some of you don't respond I might just add you, anyway, who knows? Just keep in mind that if you get a request from the above lj, it's your good ol' friend, Bressa, re-vamped and made shiny for 2009.

So, lately I've been getting these e-mails from a site called fanbox.com, telling me that a friend of mine has a question she'd like to ask me and that I should follow their link to answer it. That's all well and good, but I know that the friend it's telling me about no longer uses the IM screenname it's telling me she's using.

Curious but not thinking it's anything harmful, I follow the link. It takes me to a windows desktop look-alike and a question in poll-form about whether or not soulmates exist. Since this is something that my friend would ask, I answer it with a "Yes" and continue on my day.

Except now, even though I declined to sign up with their website, it keeps giving me messages like this one:

Looks pretty legit on the surface, right? It's NOT.

This is a phishing website. It wants your password and it wants to be able to send more e-mails like this down to your other friends.

If you've been receiving anything like this, please don't respond. Don't follow the links, don't "sign up with a free profile!".

Here are some links to several other blogs that will explain why and how this particular bit of Internet-trash works:

Draco and Harry
Title: All in the Family (5/?)
Rating: R (or M for mature)
Genre: Humor, romance, a hint of drama
Pairing(s): Draco/Harry, Draco/Hermione (implied), Ginny/Luna (implied)
Warning: While mostly canon-compliant, this fic boldly and blatantly ignores that the epilogue ever happened.
Summary: "I think, first of all, we shouldn't tell anyone. And secondly, we shouldn't talk about it. Most importantly, it's probably just a good idea if we pretend it never happened."

Something happened between Draco and Hermione, something that never should have even been considered . . .

Plot Bunnies!

  • Feb. 3rd, 2008 at 9:25 PM
Draco in his Element
Lately, I've been revisiting "The Noble Emotions" and realizing that I miss doing that sort of project. Last night, as my husband happily jabbed at a PlayStation controller and destroyed many pointless enemies (some of which included holly leaves and a fuzzy thing that reminded me of a Koosh ball) and the fetus angrily kicked at my insides, I got an idea.

Mind you, my husband's video gaming habits and the baby's movements really had nothing to do with getting the plot bunnies hopping again. I suppose boredom had more to do with it.

But, anyway, in my twisted little mind, a shameless and ironic plot began to grow, and luckily the laptop was close at hand. The general premise of this fic is: Draco's going to be a daddy.

If you're interested, keep an eye out! It could mean the start of something beautiful. Or it could mean horrible, firey destruction and be absolutely terrible. Never know until you try, eh?

Wish me luck! Cheers!

Look out! It's Quizilla!

I took an interesting quiz just a bit ago. The possible outcomes were intriguing, so I decided to take it very carefully and actually answer as truthfully as possible.

This is what I ended up with:

Good to Your Daughter

  • Jan. 25th, 2008 at 12:59 PM
Ravenclaw
Title: Good to Your Daughter
Rating: PG
Pairing: Fleur/Bill (But the fic is quite general)
Summary: England's gloominess and the approach of her daughter's birth have dampened Fleur's spirits, and put into question where her heart lies. And no matter how Bill reassures her, or what she does to combat her emotions, her uncertainties are as unshakable as the weather.
Disclaimer: Characters and settings are not mine. Plot is. I'm not making any money off of this, either, I swear.

Good to Your Daughter )

The Noble Emotions; Ch. 13

  • Jan. 13th, 2008 at 2:25 PM
Ravenclaw
Title:The Noble Emotions (13/13)
Rating: R
Pairing(s): Draco/Harry, Draco/Blaise Zabini, and (briefly) Draco/Pansy
Timeline: Sixth year, HBP set
Summary: All his life, Draco has been taught to display only two emotions: distaste, and scorn. Hatred, according to his father, is too close to love, and the line between them could easily be crossed. Draco is about to find out just how easy it is to cross it.
Style: Angst, but with a touch of sarcastic humor and irony that allows for relief from the constant pain of Draco's agony.
Warning: There are moderately graphic het (Ch. 3) and slash (Ch. 9, 12) scenes in this fic. Proceed with caution and discretion. Please do not read this if you are expecting an erotic novella. All romance is secondary to plot.
Disclaimer: I don't own any of the characters or settings of this fic, in any chapters.

This is the thirteenth and final installment. You are encouraged to begin reading this for the first time or to enjoy the last chapter if you have been following the story.

Reviews are accepted and appreciated.

Chapter Thirteen )

It's coming!

Okay, "Noble" has been written and off my mind for a long time. However, I realized as I was transcribing some handwritten notes for my novel that I haven't done the same for the Drarry fic I spent so long on. Sorry! I'm going to work on that (probably tomorrow) and get the thirteenth and final installment up and online.

I don't know how much that means to anyone - active following seems to have declined a bit since my posts became more and more sporadic - but I just thought I would let anyone still interested know that it's on the way and that I'm truly sorry for taking so long. Life takes precedent over fan fiction.

The last chapter is very short, by the way. Very short and very to-the-point. I've had the ending of this fic planned out since I first conceptualized it, but what ended up happening was so very different and so much better. I am truly proud of it, and in my humble opinion it was worth the wait.

Thank you for your patience! Or something like that. ;)

Snagged this idea from [info]skeeterbug00. It's a pretty neat one, I have to agree with her there.

Instructions:

1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the next 4-7 sentences on your LJ along with these instructions.
5.Don't you dare dig for that "cool" or "intellectual" book in your closet! I know you were thinking about it! Just pick up whatever is closest.

He shook his head, couldn't understand my lack of ambition. I wasn't dynamic enough. Because of him those four teachers taking courses were moving on and up and out. That's what he said. Why should they spend their lives in the classroom with kids when they could travel the corridors of power?

I felt brave for a moment and asked him, If everyone moved on and up and out who would teach the children?

He ignored me, allowed himself a little smile with a mouth that had no lips.

All's Fair in Love and War; Ch. 3

  • Dec. 11th, 2007 at 7:36 PM
Ravenclaw
Title: All's Fair in Love and War (3/3)
Pairing: James/Lily, Snape/Lily
Rating: PG-13 (for one hot kiss and some cross-dressing)
Summary: Sirius thought it would be funny to tell Snape a little lie and see where it took him. Little did he know that some unexpected lines were about to be crossed. Naturally, as James' best friend, he has to do everything in his power to stop it.
Disclaimer: Recognize it? Then it's not mine. All I own in the plot.
A Note: This fic is goofy and off the wall. Do not read if your sense of humor isn't intact.
